Churchy Banks

Hope you are all settling in to this new school year and it's routines. Getting up early is always hard if you enjoyed sleeping in over the summer. By the end of this week, things should be running much more smoothly.

In a few Sundays, the children will have another opportunity to bring their "Churchy Banks" to the front of the auditorium during the service. I have had several parents ask when we would do it again. What an encouragement to know that your children are still collecting money and filling up their banks for our new building. We will definitely need a playground! If your children have not been collecting money, there's no time like the present to start back. Tell them to lift up those sofa cushions, check under seats in the car, and do some odd jobs for change!

Happy Tuesday!

Sunday School 2011-2012

Wow! I cannot believe it is already time for a new Sunday School year. Which means it is also time for a new school year. It is truly amazing to me how quickly time goes by. It makes me consider how I used my days in the last seven  months... did I use them for things that have eternal value? (Not nearly as often as I would like to think I did.) Did I worry about useless stuff? (Of course I did!!) Did my quickness of anger serve any purpose other than destruction? (Does it ever?) Is God's grace great enough to cover my waste of time, feelings I hurt, hours spent in sinful worry? Absolutely!! Thank God for His longsuffering, loving kindness, and patient guidance. I pray this Sunday School year will yield more fruit and that our hunger and thirst after Righteousness will grow to a point that we can do no other than seek to know more of Him through His Word, causing us to deeply and visually love with our neighbors!

Happy 2011-2012!!

True Love

The tea cups are all washed and put away. Cinderella has gone back to her castle. The fourteen little princesses are winding down from all the excitement of the afternoon (and abundance of consumed sugar.) As they finally snuggle into their covers, I pray God will remind them that they are indeed Princesses. They are His. The apple of His eye. They are protected by the Most High because of His abundant love and faithfulness. I pray they will drift off to sleep with His words echoing in their little ears: "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving kindness."

Our King is much grander than that of fairy tales. There is no need for glass slippers, though we live in a world of wicked step-sisters. His faithfulness is new every morning. His covenant is everlasting. He is ever present. He is our God.

Tea Party and Pool Party

Girls and Moms: Don't forget our Dresses and Hats Tea Party tomorrow afternoon at the church office beginning at 4:00. Please feel free to bring a friend with you. I'd love to know how many to prepare for, so if you get a minute, please let me know. Don't forget to bring your aprons!

EVERYBODY: Remember, make plans to come to the End of Summer, Back to School Party at Hathaway Lake Subdivision pool on Thursday from 5-8pm. We will have pizza and drinks. Bring friends and snacks, if you like. I just need to have a head count by Wednesday at 5:00 so I'll know how much pizza to buy. The cost for this is $3 per person over the age of 2.

Thanks so much!
