The tea cups are all washed and put away. Cinderella has gone back to her castle. The fourteen little princesses are winding down from all the excitement of the afternoon (and abundance of consumed sugar.) As they finally snuggle into their covers, I pray God will remind them that they are indeed Princesses. They are His. The apple of His eye. They are protected by the Most High because of His abundant love and faithfulness. I pray they will drift off to sleep with His words echoing in their little ears: "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving kindness."
Our King is much grander than that of fairy tales. There is no need for glass slippers, though we live in a world of wicked step-sisters. His faithfulness is new every morning. His covenant is everlasting. He is ever present. He is our God.
